Member Company of IBS Group (ZY71.DE) Integrates Data Sources of Morsviazsputnik, participant of global programmes for vessel tracking, communications, search and rescue
IBS IT Services, the member company of IBS Group (ZY71.DE), has completed the first stage of a project to provide an integrated information system for Morsviazsputnik (a Federal State Unitary Enterprise (FSUE)). An integration solution has now been deployed to accumulate data from a variety of information systems and provide tools for visualisation of the positions of vessel under the Russian flag in the World Ocean.
FSUE Morsviazsputnik operates coast stations of the INMARSAT satellite communications system and participates in global programmes and projects for vessel tracking, communications, search and rescue. The company provides satellite tracking in the interests of vessel owners, entities responsible for navigation safety, government authorities, and provides communications services for individual and business customers.
The core function of Morsviazsputnik is to collect process and distribute navigation information. As information comes from a number of independent Russian and international systems, the company’s staff has to handle large volumes of frequently overlapping heterogeneous data. The project to provide the comprehensive integrated information system was launched under the aegis of the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency to improve operating efficiency and provide interested individuals and organisations with quality navigation information.
