IBS IT Services

  • IBS
The Group's IBS IT Services division consists of IBS, one of the most dynamic IT services and consulting companies in Russia. IBS offers substantial expertise in design and implementation of complex projects in various industries, supported by a unique product portfolio and skilled employees. IBS structure reflects a strategy aimed at fast growth, stronger leadership positions, enhanced role in the Russian economy and, most importantly, successful implementation of projects however large, unique and complex they might be.

Distribution of functions within the division is primarily based on the nature of projects implemented. We have set up a special business model to build customer relationships that are as efficient as possible while accommodating customer business needs.

This model differentiates between two types of solutions: complex integrated solutions and replicable solutions.

Complex integrated solutions are resource-intensive solutions that require a customized approach, in-depth industrial, technology and business expertise, involvement of large project teams and a thorough understanding of specific needs of the customer's business in order to be implemented. IBS deals with implementation of complex integrated projects.

Replicable solutions are thoroughly worked through solutions that are promptly implemented and, most importantly, allow for a decrease in implementation costs due to a clear understanding of the objectives and availability of the ready-made proven solution to achieve them. IBS Platformix promotes a new class of replicable infrastructure integration solutions, and IBS DataFort promotes a new class of replicable functional outsourcing solutions.

In addition, entities within IBS have differing industrial and product specializations. This approach allows for efforts and resources to be focused on long-established areas of interest and for new entities with cutting-edge technological or industrial specializations to be involved.

IBS is consistently ranked among the top Russian IT consulting companies. For example:

  • in 2004, the Global Finance journal awarded IBS SI with the "Best Information Technology Company Award" for the second consecutive year; and
  • also in 2004, IBS SI was ranked number one amongst Russian consulting companies in three Russian business magazines: Kommersant-Dengi, Expert and Finance.

Historically, IBS was the first company in the Group to be formed, and the other business divisions grew out of it. IBS currently employs about 2,000 people. IBS maintains premium partnership relations with many industry-leading vendors of hardware and software. These include IBS's status as IBM's General Partner, Cisco Systems'  Golden Partner, SAP's Local Alliance Partner, Oracle's Global Partner, as well as similar relationships with Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard and others. These relationships allow IBS to exploit preferred customer status and to obtain the best pricing conditions, resulting in higher margins. Obtaining such status usually involves selling a significant volume of the relevant vendor's products and having a certain minimum number of trained and certified professionals.

In 2007 IBS and Borlas Consulting Group merged and that was the biggest deal in the Russian IT services market. Borlas provides management consulting, ERP system implementation, integration and maintenance services, builds IT infrastructures and security systems and also provides training and technical support services. Borlas is Oracle Corporation’s leading Russian partner and has close relationships with other vendors. According to independent experts, IBS and Borlas have perfectly complemented each other’s strengths by contributing their product lines and experience with companies from a variety of industries, while the merged company’s team of consultants is the strongest and most professional in Russia. Consolidation of resources of the leading IT services market players secured absolute leadership in the market for the merged team with an unrivalled range of service offerings. 84 of Russia’s top 100 companies are customers of the merged company

IBS IT Services objectives:
